Assembly

Assembly / Quick guide

RTA assembly: 15–30 minutes per cabinet.

Our cabinets ship flat-packed (Ready-to-Assemble) for safe transit. Assembly is straightforward — most customers can do it themselves with basic tools and a partner.

Customer assembling a cabinet at home on a moving blanket

01 / Before you start

What you'll need. What's in the box.

What you'll need

  • Phillips-head screwdriver (or cordless drill with Phillips bit)
  • Rubber mallet (optional, but helpful for tight cam-lock fits)
  • A flat surface to work on — we recommend laying out a moving blanket on the floor to protect finished panels
  • 15–30 minutes per cabinet
  • A second pair of hands for larger cabinets (24"+ wide)

What's in the box

  • Pre-finished panels (sides, top, bottom, back)
  • Pre-assembled face frame and doors
  • Soft-close hinges already installed on doors
  • Cam locks, dowels, and screws (in a labeled bag)
  • Illustrated step-by-step assembly instructions

Adjust hinges if needed — soft-close hinges have built-in adjustment screws on the back of each hinge cup.

03 / FAQs

Common questions.

Do I need any special tools?
No. A Phillips screwdriver or cordless drill is enough.
Are pre-drilled holes accurate?
Yes — every hole is CNC-drilled at the factory. Issues are almost always panel orientation.
Can I have someone install for me?
We don't install, but most general contractors will. SoCal: we can recommend installers. Otherwise search your area for "cabinet installer" — typical rate is $50–$100 per cabinet.
What if I'm missing a part or something is damaged?
Email maggieyan@kchomeglobal.com with photos and order number. Replace free for 30 days. See our returns policy.
Do drawer bases come pre-assembled?
Drawer boxes pre-assembled. Cabinet box is RTA. Drawer slides come installed.
How do I install the cabinets on the wall?
Standard install — ledger board, screws into wall studs through mounting rail, level, secure. Any installer or DIYer can do it.
